nn Light lived in New York City until she moved to Mexico
with her husband in 1964. While
traveling throughout Europe, Latin America and the Far East with her husband she studied the works of the old and new master artists. She attended
the Art Students League in New York City and workshops with Chip Chadburn, Ned Jacobs and others. The
contrasting styles of Maestro Arturo Tamaya and Toby Joysmith, her teachers in
Mexico, influenced her in the
use of clear, bold colors in her oil
paintings.
An accomplished
portrait painter, her studies discover the individual's sense of life,
unique personality and presence in her subjects. She particularly
enjoys painting children.
Ann resides in Hilton
Head Island and was the owner of the Moonshell Art Gallery for twenty years until she decided to
work from home.
Her paintings reflect her love
of travel and her unique perspective on the
scenes that have attracted her.
